About HHF
Heart and Hands Foundation (HHF) was founded in 2016 out of a deep conviction that transformation begins when individuals are empowered to realize their God-given potential. Born in Kyenjojo District, Western Uganda, the organization emerged from the vision of Dr. Abel Tindao, a youth leader who recognized that poverty and vulnerability are best overcome through mindset change, practical skills, and faith-inspired community action. What started as a grassroots initiative has since evolved into a trusted non-profit organization serving thousands across Uganda with programs that touch on education, livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and leadership development.
Our Mission and Vision
At the heart of HHF is a mission to equip and empower communities with the skills, resources, and resilience they need to thrive. The Foundation works to advance education, sustainable livelihoods, social empowerment, and environmental conservation, ensuring that people are not just recipients of aid but active participants in shaping their own futures.
Our vision is bold yet simple: to see communities in Uganda transformed into models of dignity, unity, and sustainability. HHF believes in nurturing both the hearts through values, faith, and mindset renewal and the hands through training, resources, and opportunity so that every person has the capacity to live a life of purpose and productivity.
Leadership and Governance
HHF is guided by a strong governance structure that guarantees accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability. The organization is steered by an active Board of Directors chaired by Mugweri Sam, while day-to-day leadership rests with Executive Director Dr. Abel Tindao. Together with Principal Mugume Bright and Administrator Kemiyondo Annet, this leadership team brings a wealth of experience in education, administration, and community development.
Beyond titles and roles, HHF’s leadership is defined by its servant-leadership ethos. Every program is approached with humility, responsibility, and a spirit of collaboration. By blending professional expertise with moral conviction, the team ensures that HHF not only achieves programmatic outcomes but also strengthens trust within the communities it serves.

Our Journey of Impact
From its earliest beginnings, HHF has believed that lasting change starts with mindset transformation. Over the years, the Foundation has reached countless individuals particularly youth, women, and families through initiatives in vocational training, literacy programs, environmental campaigns, and community empowerment forums. By cultivating values of honesty, resilience, and service alongside practical training, HHF equips people with the tools to create real solutions to local challenges.
Milestones include the establishment of the Hearts and Hands Vocational Institute, the launch of community-based literacy and farming projects, and partnerships with local government and faith institutions. These efforts have expanded HHF’s reach from small village gatherings to district-wide programs that influence policy, education, and livelihoods. Today, HHF stands as a recognized force for good proof that local vision, when paired with committed leadership, can spark widespread transformation.
